John Dippoliti and Jason Carswell are pleased to present our project outline to teach kids the fundamentals of photographic (and video) composition while raising funds for the South-Windsor Optimist' Club and their projects for the local children of our communities.
Overview
Optimists' Photography Workshop for kids of all ages suggested donation: $20 |
||||
Participants will receive photography and cinematography supervision by experienced adults at the exceptionally unique outdoor wonderland of Le Clair Cottage, on Manning Road. Photos and videos will be judged on creativity, quality, and how well they represent The Optimists' Creed. All registered youths will receive a basic photography fundamentals guide, class assignments booklet, and a participation certificate. Each participant may enter up to three photographs or videos for The Optimists Club to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and prizes (one prize maximum per participant). |

Students
Student may bring their own cameras and phones as our main priority is a focus on the fundamentals of image composition, rather than the diverse technicalities of various recording devices, which of course we'll try to help with. Importantly, kids would learn how to use their own gear, rather than technology they may never see again.
Collaborators
We're looking for assistance, collaborators, donations, and sponsors in exchange for cross-promotion and public awareness. (See Preparations for more information.)
We're looking for knowledgeable and qualified photography teachers.
At this point, in advance of the September event, we're not even certain of everything that we can offer, much less what we need.
In short, we're still brainstorming ideas of what we can provide to the kids for a memorable, fun, and teachable creative photography experience.
