About

LeverMind developing projects are founded on the voluntaryist principles of bottom-up community self-management rather than government or corporate top-down tyrannical technocracy.

LeverMind projects stem from sister-sites - LeverMind.net is the online Facebook-like forum, and Projex.Wiki is this wiki you are reading.

In addition to the forum and wiki, branches of LeverMind include the open-source Organization documentation and the development and distribution of the public relations Productions.

Expectations

Priorities

Behavioural expectations of users:

  • Aim high on the Pyramid Of Debate for elevated discourse.
  • Always do no harm to LeverMind.net or Projex.Wiki communities or projects.
    • ie. Defamation, hacks, maliciousness, lies, sealions, shills, slander, spam, trolls, etc.
  • Always quality over quantity.
    • Do not appeal to mediocrity.
ie. "The Disney Star Wars isn't so bad if you just don't think about it too hard."
    • Include citations, links, and sources, especially for readers, the confused, and for outrageous claims.
    • Many of us have better things to do with our valuable time, energy, and earnings - such as raise balanced healthy families, resist tyranny, organize movements, create counter-propaganda, develop, share, and employ alternatives and solutions.
  • Always respect other users.
  • Freedom of discourse (ie. ideas), not freedom of speech (ie. insults).
  • No pornography. (Avoids burdensome problem monitoring. It' free elsewhere.)
  • Organize and develop LeverMind.net and Projex.Wiki to become valuable resources to users, creatives, historians, and researchers whenever possible. (ie. counter-propaganda documentarians)

Potential LeverMind slogans

  • Antidote for brainwashing.
  • Authoritarian skeptics.
  • Be skeptical.
  • Context matters.
  • Question everything.
  • Thought for food.
  • Turn your rut into a groove.
  • Untrap your brain.

This overview updates

This overview will always be open to being improved with community feedback.

Community self-management

This organization page may develop as the community sees fit.

There will be no dictator or team of moderators to be arbitrary judges and executioners.

Direct democracy may be mob rule, but it will serve the community better than tyranny.

The community will cooperatively develop the tools, with checks and balances, needed to determine what deserves actionable discipline (ie. strikes).

People are free to participate, witness, or abstain as they see fit.

Checks and balances

If the community is compelled to make new hard rules (as few as possible), or soft guides (as many examples as necessary), or has questions, they should always refer to the #foundational touchstone.

Inevitably successful freedom of thought will become a target for infiltration, corruption, and subversion. Thus, like The Constitution, the grounding foundational touchstone can always be the practical reference to compare to if anyone questions if the forum, rules, and discipline stray too far from the original fundamental goals.

Invitation membership

Forum members will be invited to join and may then invite other users. Users who invite others of poor caliber (sealions, spammers, trolls, etc.) will loose the invitation privilege.

For now, the public may apply with good reasons by email to join the forum.

If/when it becomes feasible and/or necessary (to pay the rent, to keep out problems, etc.) we may require a small fee to join.

Privileges

All users automatically receive the benefit of the doubt until they prove themselves unworthy, and have their privileges revoked.

  • full participation
  • inviting new users
  • voting on community matters
  • more?

Strikes

Strikes expire after 2 years.

1st strike: 1 week ban
2nd strike: 1 month ban
3rd strike: 1 year ban
4th strike: permanent ban

Foundational touchstone

The mass State has no intention of promoting mutual understanding and the relationship of man to man; it strives, rather, for atomization, for the psychic isolation of the individual. The more unrelated individuals are, the more consolidated the State becomes, and vice versa.

"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of his recurrent themes: the need for each person to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his or her own instincts and ideas. It is the source of one of his most famous quotations:

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. — 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' — Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance: An Excerpt from Collected Essays, First Series

This essay is an analysis into the nature of the "aboriginal self on which a universal reliance may be grounded". Emerson emphasizes the importance of individualism and its effect on a person's satisfaction in life, explaining how life is "learning and forgetting and learning again".

Agora (Greek) is an open place for markets and people to assemble, like a town square.

Phylaxis (medical) is the protection against infection.
We may also protect against cultural destruction, cyber warfare, medical tyranny, political infiltration, psychological operations, wealth theft, and weaponized migration.

FOEPATCHISM

FOEPATCHISM = Fair, Open, Ethical, Peaceful, Accountable, Transparent, Consistent, Honest, Inclusive Social Management - for collaborators, communities, families, governments, groups, homes, organizations, social media, societies, teams, workplaces, etc. "Foe" = enemy; "patch" = correction.

This ambitious, subjective term includes ethical community management concepts critically lacking in most hierarchical institutions. Admittedly ambiguous without detailed component definitions, it's a giant step in the right direction towards clarifying fundamental systemic travesties. This term is a tool to resist the root of all modern problems - hierarchies, monopolies, and tyrannies with permissive "authority" ripe for abuse, corruption, exploitation, and selfish interests.

What is woke?

  • "Woke means having a Critical Consciousness [and that you've woke up to] believing that our social environment is contoured by illegitimate power structures that need to be identified, exposed, and denounced."
~ @7:00 in "Do Your Homework!" (14:43) ~ New Discourses (James Lindsay), June 21, 2024
Show notes:
To be successful at pushing back at Woke Marxism, you have to know some Woke Marxism and know it pretty well. It's not enough to have a tacit sense of what "Woke" or its programs are about. You have to be somewhat knowledgeable. Leftists are extremely good at discrediting their opposition by making them look dumb (or ignorant, or uninformed), evil, or crazy, and they will spring questions on unsuspecting activists to create this image. Preventing them the easy entry against you, your work, and your message that is undermining your intellectual authority on these matters is as simple as one thing: doing your homework. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay talks about this Leftist strategy and the importance of doing your homework to countering them. Join him to up your game!
