- This article is a stub requiring expansion.
This is an evolving list of concepts and ideas to be utilized in the production of the Santa Libertas segments of the LeverMind Variety Show.
Intro
Santa Libertas, aka Freedom Santa, is a series of opinion shorts in development, featuring comedy, analysis, opinions, and reflections on culture, politics, society, and the destiny of humanity.
Jason Carswell would rather be behind the camera - but realizes it's simpler to just do it than to compel and organize others without focused passion to convey his messages. By embracing one of the most universally famous and beloved of bearded characters, Santa Claus, he can creatively and respectfully introduce regular folks worldwide to new easily digestible insights sprinkled with humour.
Developed and produced in and around Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Goals
Santa Project Goals
- Find the best ways to present difficult content as the ideal version of the stereotypical Santa myth that most people care for.
- Make people care more - to build accountability, awareness, community, compassion, consistency, cooperation, ethics, fairness, fulfillment, generosity, health, honesty, inclusiveness, meaning, optimism, peace, prosperity, skepticism, sustainability, etc. - if possible.
- Utilize humour, wit, and charisma.
- The beloved Santa character plus fun and charm will wedge critical issues into the minds of folks sitting on the fence.
- We don't need to preach to the choir what they already know.
- We won't convert the devoted brainwashed sheeple.
- Freedom Santa Libertas will use the wedges of comedy, mythology, and conspirophilia to edutain the masses in order to leverage their heavily burdened minds over to greater autonomy via skepticism of authority.
Acting
What characters can Santa draw acting traits from?
- I'm keen to express all the emotions necessary.
- I just don't know why I'm having such a hard time thinking of fun elder-but-not-old male roles to emulate.
- Doc from Back To The Future had good energy but was too cuckoo.
- Gandalf is okay, but often too aloof and could be friendlier.
- Jim Carey's Liar Liar overacting reactions may be necessary only when reviewing political nonsense or corporate media - but not all the time.
- Sam Elliott, often a wise old cowboy, is kind and serious but without enough fun.
- Tom Baker's Doctor Who was a kind wild-card - and could do sedate and elderly when called for.
- Wilfred Brimley is too elderly and stodgy.
Maybe we need to review some good Santa movies.

- Thyme is good, but cilantro, fennel, and wintergreen are my faves.
- Chronologically that's a story for another time. Get it?
- It's not that complex. You can think of time as a another dimension, like up/down, left/right, front/back, hot/cold (thermodynamics), and electro-magnetism - all unified as our Universe. Essentially existential. Nicolai Tesla mastered electro-magnetism, and I figured out space-time. It's not rocket surgery.

- Santa Nick O'Libertas - what they used to call me back in the day. You could say it's my "Nick" name. "Santa" Nicolas Claus
- "Why do you always say, 'For goodness' sake'?"
- The phrase "for goodness' sake" is an expression used to convey surprise or annoyance, often in response to a frustrating situation. It can also serve as a plea for someone to act with decency or urgency. ~ Merriam-Webster - Both definitions are apt considering the state of the world, and I'd add that it's not just a plea for decency, but it's my core philosophy, goal, and fulfilling purpose - simply to be good. And naturally good things will follow.
- Santa audio synch
- intentionally mismatched lip synch (ie. Naked Lunch)
- intentionally fake clapping sounds

- Jimmy 23:51 So why doesn't the government just declare war on climate change and why don't they nuke the South Pole, you know?
- Kurt 23:56 Oh, I know. Because fossil fuels power our war machine.
- Jimmy 23:59 Oh, but I say we should nuke the South Pole as a warning to the North Pole. Stop melting. Stop melting.

I played it as a 6 food garden gnome with giantism despite the leprechaun grandfather and Irish accent, who carries a deep grudge against all other lawn ornaments (illegals) and (migrants) garden decorations (ie. Easter Island heads, lighthouses, Buddhas, poorly made silhouettes, inaccurate creatures nature, the barn chique in general, etc.). I wore the red cone hat, beard, a name tag, and everything. Primed for LeverMind. It's difficult and slow to develop a professional show in one's spare time by one's self, especially amid endless hurdles. But optimism and tenacity should eventually yield results." ~ JC in chat on GoatMatrix.net]
