The Lions' Den - Windsor Media Projects & Freedom Underground, is a collaboration and creative space for animation, arts, audio-video, bricolage, classes, creatives, editing, events, lectures, meetings, newsletters, podcasts, productions, recordings, screenings, workshops, etc.

History

For a few years from late 2021 to 2023, the Green Room Organization of Windsor (also known as G.R.O.W.) was a freedom-minded social activity community center in Windsor, Ontario. Since then freedom folks met in parks, Tim Hortons, at Brown's Lounge, and at Emma's and others' homes.

The Windsor/Essex Freedom Movement (WEFreedom.ca) has been needing/wanting a community center, meeting place, and creative production studio for years. Located in the heart of downtown Windsor, and first discussed in February of 2025, the go ahead was granted in September of 2025, and steps are underway to renovate and evolve the 34'x17' main space into a multi-functional creative, event, and utility space.

Jason Carswell came up with "Freedom Underground", Vincent Cease came up with "The Lions' Den", and the space is a stones throw from the Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media & the Creative Arts, more easily unofficially called the "Windsor Media Centre", which has been slowly undergoing renovations for years - thus our nearby soon-active space will also be known as the Windsor Media Projects in association with Projex.Wiki.
